I spent a few hours on Wed. volunteering for the local public broadcasting station WHRO. The group that I was with represented Riverview Gallery in Portsmouth, VA. Along with us artists, there was a group from Northrup Grummond comprised mostly of engineers. Certainly one would think that we were an unlikely combination of folks.
The station was charmingly accomodating with Chinese food brought in for workers and plenty of coffee, sodas, etc.
We had fun while we nervously answered the phones taking the call-in pledges. So many of us commented on how polite the callers were. Although I didn't get to paint at all that day, I still came away with a sense of accomplishment.
Volunteering is a good thing.
