I have some strange hydrangeas growing on the side of my house. They are, I believe, called Lace or Lacey Hydrangeas. I suppose that this is because they never fully get that big "mophead" that other normal hydrangeas get. These poor guys get a few spots of violet color flowers and lots of big green leaves, but no full flowers. At first I thought that I was doing something wrong to these flowers, but was later told that, "no...that's just the way they are." So now these guys are my favorites...for they are perfectly "normal" even though they aren't like the others.
