Laura Tovar Dietrick Paintings

Some of my work and my thoughts on the problems, joy, humor, frustration and pain of being an artist.

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Every evening on my way home from the studio, I see these guys just sitting under the shade of a tree, just hanging out. Sometimes they have lots of packages, sometimes an occasional woman joins them. They always seem to be content enough to pass the time in one another's company. I had to draw this from memory as it is virtually impossible for me to take a photo. I am so glad that summer will be officially over with the start of school next week. Now we have to hope that the hurricane passes us by.
