Holiday Strawberries...in acrylic no less!

Okay, I'm not an acrylic painter. Everyone has heard me complain loudly about how the acrylics won't do this or how weird they seem to me. Mostly the acrylic painters just smugly laugh because I whine about how quickly they dry. Nevertheless, this is my first acrylic  painting that I did at a workshop given by Gloria Coker one Saturday at London Gallery in Norfolk a few months agos. Acrylic paints are difficult to "push" around on the canvas and forget about trying to mix color on the canvas to tweak it to what you want. I am so used to oils being ever so pliant and more patient. Acrylics are like a hyperactive child on steriods that simply won't wait for you to make up your mind. Oils are slower and more refined and of course, take their time to dry. The good news is that painting this picture and now finally finishing it caused a little more stretching, and I'm all for that.
