"A Palette of Places" New Series Begins

I haven't posted for awhile as I have been busy with shows and this new series of paintings I have begun. About the series...
I decided that after having lived and visited a bazillion places over the years that everytime I have a quiet moment to sit and recall these places from my past, a certain palette emerges in my mind. This "palette" is an unformed, slightly blurry image of distinctive colors and the very first thing that comes to mind, evoking the specific place in my head. Depending upon the place visited, the impact that it had on my life at the time, who the people were that I knew and the events that took place, all of these factors have an impact on the palette of colors I feel. And I do feel the colors. I could write eons about this and surely will over the next month or so as I work on the paintings. I have completed two, two others are almost finished and need tweaking. The sizes of the canvas are chosen based on the impact the palette I feel has had on my life. Some of the "places" I spent only a short time, others I revisted many times. Some places are well known and some are obscure. Right now, I have a list of about 50 places I have been carrying around in my head and I am in a real furor to get them out and onto a canvas. More to come...
This one above is called PARIS.

Love your abstracts! Great colors and would remind you of Paris!

Thanks! Walking along the Seine, people watching at cafes, drinking plenty of good wine...this is Paris to me.
