A Fine Pair

I did these quickie pastels only a few days ago and plan on painting them in oil. They are only 7 x 7 and I did them to fit into some old, black "barny" frames I have. I am particularly fond of the exotic chickens with their wild feathers and colors, so maybe I will do some of them in the future.

Tiny Pink Ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness

I have shown this pastel before, but if you look closely you can see a tiny pink ribbon on her right side. At Olde Towne Art all paintings with a pink ribbon that are sold will donate 10% of the sales to the Susan G. Komen Fund. The colors are much paler in this picture as I took it through the large window in the front. Surely a good cause.

Dancing Trees

I did this pastel some time ago and it still amuses and makes me happy when I look at it. It's quite large and framed in a heavy, brass frame. Trees do dance and do it often. Mostly they like the waltz and the cha cha. Personally, I prefer the Lindy.

Summer Has Arrived by Boat

I suppose that summer is here now that the pools have officially opened and only 3 weeks of school are left. I drew this today for a show featured at Riverview Gallery opening next Friday that is all about sailing and boating. The picture was taken when we were in Cinque Terra in Italy and had gone to Portofino for the afternoon. So beautiful there and one of my favorite places in Europe.
